A floor is only as good as what's under it.
Older homes here often have sagging joists, squeaky planks and several layers of old flooring stacked on top of each other. We pull what needs to go, level and fasten the subfloor, then install.
We also refinish existing hardwood. Plenty of Utica homes have original oak or maple hiding under carpet that can be sanded and sealed for far less than new flooring.

FAQ
Flooring Installation questions
Can you install over my existing floor?
Sometimes. If the existing floor is flat and well-attached, some products can go over it. If not, we remove it — floating a new floor over a bad base causes problems later.
How long does installation take?
Most rooms take one to three days. A whole main level is usually done in under a week.
Should I refinish or replace my hardwood?
If the boards are solid and thick enough, refinishing costs much less. We check during the walkthrough and tell you honestly.
Do I need to move my furniture?
We can move standard furniture. We ask you to handle electronics, fragile items and anything personal.
